Pricing, Payment & Author Rights

We know one of the biggest barriers for self-publishing authors is cost—and the fear of being locked into some corporate contract that eats your royalties.

At ProPub, we do things differently.

We offer two publishing pathways depending on your financial situation, creative goals, and risk tolerance. You choose the one that fits best.

Upfront Payment Model (You keep 100% of royalties)

• You pay for services as you go or in a package

• Once your book is published, you retain full ownership and receive 100% of the royalties

• Ideal for authors who want full independence and maximum revenue per sale

Backend Payment Model (Royalties-based)

• We handle production upfront at no or reduced cost

• We recoup our costs through a pre-agreed percentage of your royalties

• You still keep all your rights—we just share in the revenue until we’re paid back

• Ideal for authors with limited funds but strong potential and commitment

This hybrid model is how we help great books get made without financial gatekeeping, while ensuring our creative team is compensated fairly.
